The farm is run by Martin and Sarah Mackey. Martin has an academic qualification in Sustainable Agriculture, and many years of practical experience in organic growing, whilst Sarah discovered her interest in organic vegetable growing whilst 'WWOOF'ing around Europe. There are between 10 and 15 other employees working at the farm through the year.

The farm is a small organic, horticultural farm of 14 acres situated in the Stour Valley at Crundale, Kent between Ashford and Canterbury. The fields slope up towards the North Downs, giving light, chalky soil. This free draining soil, blessed by the warmer climate of the Southeast, produces vegetables of great taste and quality. As well as Home Farm, they also rent a Victorian Walled Garden at Olantigh near Wye and fields covering 100 acres below Wye Crown (formerly part of the Wye College Farm).
