Aloo Chaat
Description
This popular Indian snack, with sweet, spicy and tangy flavours, is made with potatoes
Ingredients
- 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp ginger, chopped
- 1 green chili, chopped
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp chaat masala powder
- 1/4 tsp chili powder or more if you like it spicy
- 1 tbsp coriander leaves
- 4 tbsp nylon sev (crunchy chickpea noodles)
- 2 tbsp pomegranate seeds
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Boil poatoes until 'al dente'. Leave to cool completely
- Add oil to a pan and heat. Add ginger and green chili
- Add potatoes and saute on high heat until golden and a little crisp
- Add the chili powder, chaat masala powder, salt and cumin powder. Mix well.
- Add lemon juice and check the flavour. Adjust spices and salt to taste. Mix well.
- Transfer to a serving plate. Add coriander leaves, crushed nylon sev and pomegranate seeds and serve
